Are you a nocturnal person who wants to change your sleeping habit? Or perhaps an employee who switched from grave yard to day shift? Or you just simply want to change your lifestyle and you want to start from waking up earlier? If you answer yes to any of those questions, you have come to the right place because this post is for you. Here are my tips into tricking your body to fall asleep or to get in the mood for sleeping.
HAVE AN EARLY LIGHT DINNER
If your target sleeping time is 9-10 pm, it's best not to eat 2 hrs before that. Heavy meals take a lot of work for your stomach to digest and may keep you up at night. So, to prevent this, it's best to have dinner early.
TURN OFF ALL YOUR GADGETS
Most people turn to their phones or tablets to browse the internet so they could fall asleep. But honestly, who are we kidding? Do you really think that seeing a funny new meme or discovering a new theory for the Game of Thrones or even seeing your old batch mate get married which may often lead you questioning your life choices; would all of that, really help you fall asleep? So, just turn them off.
TAKE A WARM BATH
I do not recommend this for people who have physical labor jobs. But taking a warm bath before heading to your bed will surely relax you and put you in the mood for sleeping. Remember to brush your teeth too!
STOP STRESSING OUT
I don't know to most of you but this has always prevented me from sleeping. When I have a pile of projects, I often stress out about them until I finish everything. Say no to worrying!
SWITCH OFF THE LIGHTS
This is very effective but if you're afraid of the dark, like me, you can wear an eye mask.
